Borough Barista

Are you refreshed and partially towelled from your morning swim? Sweating bullets after a run on the Esplanade? Bleary eyed and tumbling out of your car with a case of the Irish flu? Then you’re just about the perfect customer for Borough, Burleigh’s brand new beachside pit stop for anyone who likes a whiff of fresh salty air with their Campos coffee. Oddly enough this sun-drenched addition actually has its roots in vitamin D deprivation. Dean and Liz are the folks who started Borough’s older sibling Barefoot Barista, but before that they spent five years in London eating their way through the Borough Markets. Their latest project is a mini spin on that experience with baked goods, fresh juices from local produce and nary a plastic patio chair or dagwood dog in sight. You’ll find handmade timber features crafted around the shop’s pre-existing charm and burgers filled with chorizo, haloumi and butcher-prepared patties to get your jaws around.
